Promotion of initiatives for the protection and diffusion of artistic professions
Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte is a private non-profit institution, founded in Milan in 1995 by Franco Cologni, who is its President. It promotes a series of cultural, scientific and informative initiatives for the protection and diffusion of artistic professions.
With the editorial series «Mestieri d’Arte» and «Ricerche» (Marsilio Editori), it aims to historically reconstruct the reality of these activities of excellence up to the present day, looking at the great tradition of Italian savoir-faire.
With Carthusia he publishes the «Storietalentuose» series, created to make young people aware of and love the professions of the great Italian artisan tradition. He created and the six-monthly magazine «Mestieri d’Arte & Design. Crafts Culture», dedicated to the excellence of know-how and design, distributed to Elle Decor Italia subscribers and in important and prestigious applied arts institutions and museums.
With the training internships of the «One School, one Job. Paths of Excellence”” has actively supported the training of young people in high craftsmanship and their entry into the world of work over the last 10 years. Collaborates with Starhotels, OMA and Gruppo Editoriale on the “”La Grande Bellezza”” patronage project, in support of high Italian craftsmanship.
He carries out an intense scientific and teaching activity by collaborating with prestigious public and private cultural institutions: among these SDA Bocconi, Polytechnic of Milan, Creative Academy, La Triennale, FAI-Fondo Ambiente Italiano, Center du Luxe et de la Création, INMA-Institut National des Métiers d’Art.
